If you want free parking after 6pm then don’t turn up at 6pm. I have been stung twice now entering the car park whilst the six o’clock news has been on. The clock is incorrect on the entrance by about 3mins. Make sure you get there at 5 past 6 or you will be paying £1.20 like me.

    Very annoyed customer.

Information regarding the use of the Rock Car Park is abismal!

No signs to show which pedestrian doors to use for normal exit and which are one way FIRE DOORS

No obvious details of how and where to buy the Parking Ticket

Edited (offensive language removed): Barry, there is only one exit out of the car park in which there are 8ft tall machines to pay for tickets.
There are also signs on the walls directing you to the lifts.

I’ve got a job in The Rock tonight but can’t find details of specifically where the street entrance is for their car park, I know the Mill Gate one around the corner, though. Can anyone shed any light?

Beware of the car park’s concrete stairs when it’s been raining. i slid off the top step and landed on the bottom one as there was no grip insight on any of the steps. I was wearing appropriate footwear. If I’d been an older person I would have ended up in hospital. After a few days rest and a huge bruised bum and hip i’m on the road to recovery. Please just be careful.

I have recently got a job here, is there any parking scheme for employees to park for cheaper as I have to drive as public transport will take me hours to get there instead of 40mins.

i parked on the rock as usual with my disabled badge on display as there were cars with no disabilty badges parked in the disabled bays on coming back to my car on crutches i had a ticket on my car saying that i had not displayed a permit,i am ex marines and wasn blown up in afghanistan by an i,e,d roadside bomb damaging my spine, now if i cannot park in a disabled bay as non disabled people have parked there why should a jumped up jobs worth parking enforcement officer ticket me,totally ludicrious&pathetic, you would have thought that the parking enforement officer would have common sence and why was non of the people using the disabled bays ???? very offended and im writing to the bury mp and contacting disability rights and the local paper as well as a national paper, its a disgrace.

Well said Mark. These people that park in disabled spaces are a pain in the a**e. What permit should you have displayed are the blue badges not enough. Totally agree with you. Take it all the way if you can. I got a ticket for having my badges upside down, they could still be read but they did squash the ticket after I complained. Good luck.

I would like to know ,why disabled drivers suddenly have to pay for parking in Bury, don’t bury planners realise that most disabled drivers have great difficulty walking, and now we have to walk to and from parking meters as well as having to pay it is discusting, is this how we look after our disabled people?

Why shouldn’t disabled people have to pay to park? You have to pass the pay stations in order to use the lift to get back to your car, so I see no extra inconvenience that would warrant disabled people not having to pay for parking.

Went to Bury today and parked in the Rock Car Park but went to machine to pay for just under two hours parking and there was no charge. Was this just my luck or is this a regular occurrence.

I have to say, I find the ratio of parent and child parking spaces to disabled parking spaces ludicrous. There are always a multitude of disabled spaces left completely empty – and I visit The Rock at extremely varying times (morning, afternoon and evening) – whilst the ridiculously limited parent and child spaces are always taken up. As any parent or carer will know, it is extremely difficult to easily remove a child from a car seat and assemble a buggy without the worry of scratching a car beside you with the door in a normal sized space. Mothers with young children are some of the most frequent shoppers during weekdays, and therefore the number of parent and child spaces is woefully under par, whilst the disabled spaces appear to be in abundance. Surely the ratio should be equal?

I find this car park confusing, I can never easily find a ticket machine, nor how to get to the shops! A few more signs wouldn’t go amiss!

Disabled parking or the need to monitor it. The cost is not a problem but the number of cars in disabled bays with no blue badge as grown dramatically . People don’t care anymore & it is a convenient drop off for cars having been cleaned no need to spell that one out.. If the council own any part of this car park, do what you do on the streets put traffic wardens in they’d make a fortune.

I visited the car park today Saturday 13th September and took with me my 3 year old daughter her friend and my 20 month old twins. I was disgusted to see the waves car wash using the parent and child spaces to park cars that had been cleaned therefore leaving no parent and child spaces for those that need the spaces!!!!!! I was under the impression that waves had their own allocated spaces and that parent and child spaces where to help parents with prams etc I was very disappointed and will think twice of parking in the car park again, I may as well struggle in another car park. I am aware that these spaces do fill quickly which is not an issue but I find it disgusting the way these spaces were being abused today.

I have a problem with your parking spaces in the Rock. I go to Bury all the time and when my husband Paul drives round for a space it can be hard to find one simply because there seems to be lots of disabled spaces and nearly all of them are empty. I know you need disabled spaces but our problem is you seem to have too many of them. We came today which is the 13th Sept and the car park said full which it wasn’t we did just about get a space. We noticed loads of disabled spaces were still empty on each floor as we parked on the top level. It’s like this every Saturday we come. What can you do about it.
